Handmade porcelain ring ‘CONTRASTO’
Porcelain crafting is a long process that requires diligence and patience. This JHA PORCELAIN ring was handmade by the designer Jacqueline Harberink using the sculpting technique.
As a designer she gets her inspiration mainly from nature and loves modernizing old, almost forgotten craftsmanship and techniques. It is easy to recognize her signature as a designer in this unique piece of jewelry. The design is easily portable and the noble simplicity makes a refined yet powerful appearance. Every design is handmade with care. As a result, every piece is unique in itself.
Jacqueline Harberink has left the porcelain unglazed in honor of the beautiful purity of the porcelain. Thanks to a refined way of polishing the surface and the inner side of the ring feels nice and smooth.
The ring comes in a stylish JHA PORCELAIN gift box.
Material: White and black coloured Limoges porcelain with 24k gold for the rim.
Technique: hand formed by sculpting. Fired for the first time in the electric kiln at 950 degrees Celcius (biscuit) and for the second time at 1260 degrees Celsius. High firing makes the porcelain strong and robust. To get the golden rim the ring is fired for the third time at 800 degrees Celsius.
Care: The ring can be cleaned by using warm or cool water with a little bit of dish soap. Avoid acids and aggressive cleaning products on the gold.
JHA PORCELAIN uses the highest quality porcelain clay known for its strength, hardness, whiteness and translucency. Any tiny imperfection and variation are signs of the uniqueness of the art object. JHA Porcelain recycles the clay scraps.
